Made to Order – FAQ
WHAT DOES MADE TO ORDER MEAN?
Simply that your KM piece is not made until it is ordered by you!
WHY HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR PRODUCTION SYSTEM?
This is to increase flexibility and therefore sustainability, and reduce waste throughout the production process.
It means I am not making more garments than is needed. I am not trying to ‘guess’ or predict which sizes and colours might be in demand. It means I am able to use materials for other styles, reducing waste and increasing usage options for the raw materials, such as cloth.
In many ways, it is a return to the traditional way that clothing used to be made, and I strongly feel that it is a huge step towards solving many of the issues of the industry. It slows down the process and creates a more authentic and connected relationship between the maker , the customer and their new garment.
ARE ALL YOUR STYLES MADE TO ORDER?
No, not as yet. At this stage I have stock of many of my styles, and I will be keeping the Organic t-shirt lines ready to ship.
I AM NOT SURE OF MY SIZE?
HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER THE GARMENT I AM ORDERING IS IN STOCK OR WILL BE MADE TO ORDER FOR ME?
It will say that the item is ‘made to order’ in the product description.
WHAT IF I ORDER SOME GARMENTS WHICH ARE IN STOCK AND SOME WHICH WILL BE MADE TO ORDER, WHEN WILL I RECEIVE EVERYTHING?
Normally I will collate and ship all your pieces once your made to order items are made. However, you are welcome to add a note to your order ( in the ‘add a note’ section at checkout) that you would like the ready made items sent straight away, if that is your preference.
HOW DO I ORDER?
Place your order through the website in the usual way. You will receive a confirmation that your order has been accepted. I will also contact you to let you know when your order has been made and is ready to ship to you.
HOW LONG UNTIL MY PIECES ARE READY?
Every Monday we will collate, process and begin making all the ‘Made to Order’ orders received during the week (Tuesday to Sunday prior to that Monday) please allow up to 10 working days for the cutting, sewing, and finishing (button/button holeing, pre-washing, pressing etc)
THE WEBSITE SAYS THE GARMENT I ORDERED HAS BEEN PLACED ON BACK ORDER. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE IT IS SHIPPED?
Your piece is most likely on backorder because I am waiting for the fabric to arrive at my studio. Normally this should add only about a week. Feel free to email me for additional updates or an estimated shipping date.
HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS OF MY ORDER?
Feel free to email me for an update. Once your order has been shipped please refer to the tracking notifications for estimated delivery dates and updates.
SINCE MY KM PIECE IS MADE TO ORDER, CAN YOU DO CUSTOM ORDERS OR ALTERATIONS SPECIFIC TO MY MEASUREMENTS?
I want you to be perfectly happy with your piece, so yes this is possible. However, due to the extra work involved there will be an extra charge for any custom orders or alterations. Also, you will not be able to exchange or refund a custom or altered garment.
CAN I ADD TO, CHANGE OR CANCEL AN ORDER ONCE IT HAS BEEN PLACED?
I want your KM piece to work perfectly for you!
As long as we have not started making your order than there is time to make changes and I am here to help, just send me an email here.
CAN I STILL EXCHANGE OR REFUND MY GARMENT IF IT HAS BEEN MADE TO ORDER?
Yes. Refunds and exchanges work just the same as with ready made garments, you may just need to allow a bit more time if the exchange garment is Made to Order as well.

THERE IS A KM PIECE THAT I LOVE BUT IT IS SOLD OUT OR NO LONGER ON YOUR WEBSITE, ARE YOU ABLE TO MAKE ONE FOR ME?
This may be possible – It depends on the individual piece, please email me and I will let you know.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes. Please refer to my shipping info.
At the moment due to Covid 19 I am finding that international shipping is taking much longer than usual.
Please be aware of this as I cannot be responsible for delays or lost parcels.
PLEASE be extra careful with all delivery address details as changes can NOT be made once your order has been sent. I have found all this out the hard way!
DO YOU HAVE A PHYSICAL STORE OR STOCKISTS WHERE I CAN TRY ON YOUR PIECES?
No, unfortunately I do not have a bricks and mortar store where you can try on KM pieces. Also, this season due to Covid 19 I do not have any pieces in with my stockists and am instead concentrating on my online store.
I am very happy to help as much as I can with any questions about the styles you are interested in and don’t forget it is no problem to exchange or refund items purchased online from me.
