Inspired by the everyday wearability of the classic turtle-neck, but with elevated detailing.

Our knit is beautifully light, soft and stretchy due to the all-over textural waffle rib, it features a wider funnel neck - comfortable and subtly slouchy, and finishes with stepped side seam splits over the hips.

Designed to be worn as an outer piece (the merino is so gentle it can be worn next to the skin) or layered under jackets and coats. This is an endlessly versatile style and is the ideal weight to get loads of wear in the Australian climate.

Knitted from luxuriously soft, pure, extra-fine merino wool by our small family-run knitting factory in Auckland, New Zealand, hand-linked and finished.

Knitwear care|

Merino Wool is very easy to care for. Wool is naturally stain resistant, odour resistant and crease resistant, it requires only infrequent washing.

To handwash | Turn inside out, handwash in clean, lukewarm water, approx 30C using a mild, gentle wool detergent.
Allow to soak for 10 mins before rinsing thoroughly first in lukewarm water and finally in cold water.

Dry flat on a towel (free from lint) carefully knead it by hand into the correct shape and size, smoothing folds and wrinkles.

Dry in fresh air out of direct sunlight and direct heat.

Knitted in Auckland, New Zealand by our small, family run factory, with great attention to care and quality.

Each piece is hand-finished individually.
Our knitwear is knitted on Japanese knitting machines with each panel shaped so there are no off-cuts - effectively designing out waste!

A sustainable garment is one with a long life-span, good design, combined with high quality natural fabrication is the key to a treasured piece, and that is our intention with our knitwear.

Merino Wool is the world's softest and finest wool. Our Merino is termed 'extra-fine' which means it is beautifully soft to wear and of the highest quality = it will last forever if you look after your piece well.

Wool is also beneficial to your health.
Wool is hypoallergenic, non-toxic and gentle on your skin. Wool also regulates your body temperature by keeping a pocket of air close to your body while also absorbing moisture from your skin. Keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.

Closing the Loop |

Merino Wool is natural, renewable, and biodegradable. We use Organic Cotton labelling in our knitwear and recycled and FSC Certified paper packaging materials to ensure every component is made from natural and easily recycled materials.

Wool has the longest history of re-cycling and re-use, as recycled wool produces high-quality yarns.

Size Information

Size and fit

Designed to be slim-fitting for easy layering over. If you want a more relaxed fit, you may wish to size up.

S = 6 - 8
M = 10 - 12
L = 14 - 18

If you prefer a neater fit choose your usual size or down a size, if you prefer a more relaxed, easy fit choose a size bigger than your usual size.

We have tested the size large on up to a size 18-20 and it looked great.

Our model is our usual size 8 but tall (184cm) with a longer torso (and arms), she wears Olive size S, for a neat fit and Blue size M for a more over-sized fit.

Beautiful and even better for being worn regularly.

My blue turtle knit has been my most worn jumper this winter. The colour, texture and detail are beautiful. I thought it was perfect when I first tried it on, but it feels even better the more I wear it.

Beautiful winter staple

After a long deliberation, I bought both the turtle knit and the cardigan. The turtle knit is beautiful. It sits really nicely without being clingy and I can wear a singlet underneath when it's really cold, without adding any bulk. It's going to be my winter staple.

At Kristin Magrit we are a small all women team. We believe in collaborating with, and supporting other women and their businesses in any way that we can. We look first to our local community for supplies and manufacturing. Our makers are within 12 kms of our design studio. We work with knitters in Kristin's home country of New Zealand.
