Our iconic Gather Dress with ties is a contemporary take on a comfortable daily style, and will add ease and a strong design element to your year-round wardrobe.

It is made from a stunning linen/cotton/polyester textural fine gingham which is the hero of this carefree silhouette. Lending a decidedly architectural aesthetic, and feeling as light as a feather on the body while maintaining its shape and not being at all clingy.

(The 70% natural fibres will maintain breathability while the 30% polyester makes it easy care)

The dress features self-ribbon waist ties to convert the silhouette from loose to cinched or anything in between.

Locally sewn in Perth, 12kms from our studio - low impact manufacturing and low carbon footprint

- All packaging and shipping materials are made from recycled or fsc certified paper products and are reusable, recyclable and biodegradable.

-The Gather Dress with Ties will naturally biodegrade and leave no waste at the end of its life-cycle.

Classic country style dress

Love this dress. The fabric is lovely (it's a little crisp if you are super sensitive but feels like it will soften over time). It's so well made. The gather strings are a genius idea that makes it easy to adjust the fit.

Perfect Summer (and all seasons) dress

I ordered this dress online and was unsure what size to order but Kristin came to the rescue and recommended a small. Thanks Kristin, it is just right!
It is such a lovely and versatile dress that I know I will be wearing for years to come. Natural, breathable fabric, not at all clingy with nice coverage for Summer sun protection. I can also picture it with tights, boots and layers for other seasons.
And if you’re thinking about travelling, look no further. I opened my package and popped it on and there is not a crease in sight!

Classic with an edge

You might look at these images and think this is a simple blue and white check. Nope! This fabric is a magical, multidimensional wonder with varying blends of blue and purple. I wasn’t expecting the purple and was very pleasantly surprised - it’s very different to anything else I’ve come across and it takes this dress from a very nice classic staple to something much more interesting and edgy.

There was a small issue with the initial dress I was sent and Kristin called me herself to sort out the situation and provide a replacement. The customer service has been exceptional.

I will add that I was very tempted by the multicolour version of this dress but was afraid it would wash me out. I thought the blue dress would suit me better but was worried it might be boring (sorry Kristin!). Not boring at all - this dress is flattering, interesting and beautifully made in Australia. Yay!

At Kristin Magrit we are a small all women team. We believe in collaborating with, and supporting other women and their businesses in any way that we can. We look first to our local community for supplies and manufacturing. Our makers are within 12 kms of our design studio. We work with knitters in Kristin's home country of New Zealand.

Artisanship & individuality

We believe you are your own artwork, and celebrate this by designing clothes you can make your own. Each piece is sewn individually from premium natural fibres, attention and care is poured into every piece, ensuring a beautiful and long lasting garment you will love.
