Our Very Useful Blouse features a mandarin style collar, which can be worn open, buttoned up, or folded back to create a v neckline and revers, so many styling possibilities. The sleeves are wide 3/4 length finishing in a generous depth cuff that holds when rolled up. Flattering gathering detail at the front shoulder and back neck, creating a relaxed body shape and a nostalgic twist to the cut.

Made from a beautifully soft and light, high quality Japanese linen, which feels joyful to wear.

Use a cool hand wash, or a cool machine wash delicate cycle, separately inside out, line dry, steam iron on the inside, dry cleanable. This is a high quality linen which will not shrink.

Materials

-We keep manufacturing within our community - we make locally within just 12kms of our Perth based studio (low carbon footprint)

-We use natural fibres and components which will biodegrade and are healthier for us and the environment to wash and wear

-Our VUBS are made using Oeko-Tex 100 Certified Linen (French flax ,Japanese Made) and buttons made from sustainable River Shells, garment labels are all Organic Cotton

-Our packaging materials are made from post consumer recycled paper products and FSC Certified paper products (glassine bags) we strive to eliminate plastic from every part of our products.

Size Information

Sizing is true to size and with a relaxed cut. This shirt is flattering on most body shapes and works well even if you have a large bust.

Best Blouse Ever

It really is the best. The design of the collar and gathers, the 3/4 sleeves and curved hem make it stand out from a boring shirt. The shoulder seams are perfectly placed on the shoulder, not dropped. Tailored enough to dress up, understated enough to dress down. The lightweight linen is so soft and the construction is high quality. The sleeves are roomy enough to fit a variety of upper arm weight distributions and the bust area allowance can handle the fluctuations in bust throughout the month without gaping at the buttons. I have several colours now and wear them frequently. This garment is 100% worth the price point and ticks so many sustainability boxes. Highly recommend.

Beautiful new colour in Very Useful Blouse

Love these shirts for summer - they are a very lightweight linen and so very cool in hot weather. I already had the vibrant blue and the bottle green, and couldn’t resist this lovely chocolate brown. I know I will wear it as often as I did the other two last summer. Please make this a permanent colour KM!

I have the VUB in three colourways now, I think it is the perfect blouse. It is so beautifully made, the linen is the perfect weight and is super comfortable and can be worn dressed up or worn casually. I love the richness and warmth of the cocoa brown.

We look first to our local community for supplies and manufacturing. Our makers are within 12 kms of our design studio. We work with knitters in Kristin's home country of New Zealand.
